How does one pronounce the name Iseult? I have no idea.

I have been feeding the 2 cats belonging to some friends who are away this weekend, which is fine. But getting to their apartment means using a crosswalk I habitually avoid because it scares me. The intersection in question is at the top of a hill and it's a big street (by which I mean it has heavy traffic), so cars come roaring up the hill and only see the traffic lights at the top of the hill when they're already pretty close to the intersection. Plus, it's a pedestrian operated light, so people in cars aren't necessarily expecting it to be red. I suppose I could just walk two blocks east and use the next intersection instead. It's not a pedestrian-operated light and it's on the flat, so while it may not BE safer, it FEELS safer. Next time I cat-sit, maybe I'll do that.

Gakked from [personal profile] twistedchick, have Jezebel's "The Hysterical Man" on Mad Max: Fury Road. It's very funny. However, the funniest part is that I remember when the movie came out, and there were links all over the web to ACTUAL men's rights activist types on the internet actually freaking out over the stealth feminism in their action movie. These were not fictitious parodies like Jezebel's, these were actual human beings.

I know there are people on my f-list/dwircle who watch Person of Interest, so have an excellent fic by Toft called Penetration Testing. Gakked from, if memory serves, [personal profile] giandujakiss. PoI is not my thing. I watched the pilot and didn't care for it, but some people whose fic I really enjoy are active in the fandom, and I read their fic and enjoy it even though I'm not technically into the show. I really ought to give it another shot some time. Apparently the pilot wasn't very good compared to the rest of the show, but I'm so behind on other movies and TV that I don't think the giving it another shot will occur very soon.

Apparently Tom Hiddleston is on the short-list for the next James Bond. I don't know whether it's an actual list from the actual producers of the Bond franchise or some hyperactive fever dream from excitable entertainment reporters, but I like the idea. And can Tilda Swinton be the Bond Girl, please? I recently watched Only Lovers Left Alive, and Swinton and Hiddleston have ridiculous amounts of chemistry. I would watch them take turns reading entries from the phone book.

And gakked from my mother, of all people, have Queen Elizabeth II and James Bond on Donald Trump. So funny!

Oh man, I so don't want to go to work tomorrow. Sigh. But if I want to keep my internet connection on and the cat fed (not to mention keep a roof over our heads), I have to go.

Iss-ult is how I pronounce it, if that helps.

"Eee-zuhlt" is how I learned to pronounce it. I also know some people who pronounce it more in the line of "Eye-sohld".

Tom Hiddleston could make an excellent Bond but, to be honest, I'd much rather see him do other things. I'm a bit over Bond. Daniel Craig made it interesting again for two movies but since then? Eh. Bits and pieces of the mythos remain intriguing but the productions just don't seem to gel.

If you're talking English at the time, you can suit yourself; though it's a bit sad that there isn't an actual English version of the name. Theoretically I suppose the Welsh form might be an option, except for the problems in getting one's tongue round "Esyllt".

Very well indeed. After 5 months I can manage halting conversations.

Since French has a variety of versions, including "Yseut", you definitely can suit yourself. If I were speaking French I'd probably pronounce them all "Eezert", to rhyme with "insert" but without either syllable stressed.
