Mum hasn't seen Young Miss Weaver in several weeks, but came in from the 'burbs yesterday afternoon, and she thinks YMW looks better since she started the no-chicken diet and also the more-water diet. I haven't noticed anything, but I see her every day, so....
It's a pain in the ass if she's allergic to chicken, because chicken is in So. Many. Cat. Products. But she's got her Natural Balance Limited Ingredients Diet canned food (venison and green pea, duck and green pea and salmon and green pea are all totally free of chicken) and her freeze-dried beef liver treats.
Also, I suspect that drinking more water may have affected her health. The new vet (who looks about 14) had a very simple but very good suggestion when I said that YMW never drinks much water. Add a little bit of water to the wet food and mash it with a fork. The next day, add a bit more water, lather, rinse, repeat. Within a few weeks, she's basically eating cat food flavoured soup. And she's hungry again, eating 4 small meals in a day rather than 2 big ones. Success!
I'm kind of pissed at Mum, though. BC's Premier Christy Clark has been in the news recently talking about an attempted rape that happened to her when she was a teenager. Mum is convinced she made it up for votes. Sigh. Just because you disagree with someone's politics doesn't make that person immune to rapists and attempted rapists. Not-nice people and people with objectionable politics get sexually assaulted too. I can simultaneously hold 2 ideas at the same time:
#1. I will never vote for Christy Clark or support her party's policies (unless those policies change significantly in the future. VERY significantly).
#2. Christy Clark was the victim of an attempted rape, and I'm glad she's okay now, and has spoken up.
But I didn't want to fight with Mum about it, so I just changed the subject.
