i swear I'm allergic to this stupid cat of mine. Either that or I'm allergic to something in this house. I keep sniffling when I'm at home but not away from home. Except for last night, when we were at a very nice Thai restaurant, I tried a friend's spicy drunken noodle, and bit down on a chili. My mouth was on fire, my eyes were watering, I was sniffling, and I was frantically alternating large gulps of Bangkok fizz with bites of Swimming Rama trying to cleanse my palate.

The people sitting next to us in the theatre were very vocal in their disapproval of Tilda Swinton having been cast as the wise Asian mystic in the trailer for Doctor Strange, and I agreed with them.

Also, anybody in North America got room for an extra cat on a temporary basis? The cat is currently in Georgia while the owner relocates to Montreal, and apparently the cat is not safe in the current environment but the owner cannot take it out of that unsafe environment yet. Sounds like the owner would prefer someone who was in the general geographic vicinity of Georgia but is willing to consider other parts of North America as the situation is deeply worrying for them.

Self-indulgently posting yet again

So, I might be getting a second cat on a temporary basis. Not terribly likely, as if the owner gets any offers that are geographically closer, she'll likely go for them instead, but it's possible. I don't intend to tell my mother until and unless it's a done deal. SHe'll just stress over the possibility. She feels very strongly that I should not have 2 cats, and I don't think the "it's just temporary, I'd be a foster home" argument will go over very well with her. I think she worries I could turn into a crazy cat lady, which is possible, but my condo bylaws only allow 2 pets per apartment, so I think I'm safe.
