This organic Earl Grey with lavender is DELICIOUS. Usually with black tea I find I need to cut the tannin with a little milk and sugar, but I can drink this straight, probably because of the lavender and bergamot flavouring. Of course, it ain't cheap. Here's hoping choir has another fundraiser soon, so I can buy it through them and not have to pay for shipping.

Miss Weaver needs $900 worth of dental work. Actually it could be anywhere between $600 and $900, but either way, my odds of being able to afford to buy expensive organic tea anytime soon are lessened. And I think I'm going to have to put off the Scotland trip.

Uncle #2, who is a landlord and all-round hard-headed businessman who's been quite successful over the years, has given me some advice which may prove useful. He has said to go to a lawyer, get an injunction, and have Horrible Neighbour forced out of his home by the courts. Granted, Uncle #2 is in the UK, where the laws are different, but I did some googling, and lookee what I found right here in BC.

Looks like maybe you CAN force a problem neighbour to sell after all

Uncle #2, however, exists on a different plane of reality than I do. He flies business class everywhere, I stress out over $900 worth of vet bills, and have to put off my planned vacation by a year because of said vet bills eating into my vacation savings. To Uncle #2, no doubt the legal fees I would incur are a mere bagatelle. To me, they're big bucks.

Nevertheless, I have emailed the property manager a link to the story above, and asked if they have any intention of taking legal advice. They will probably reply, "Not while he's in foreclosure," but it's at least worth asking. I mean, he could get scrape together the money to avoid foreclosure, and then we'll be back at square one. I also intend to ask how long the foreclosure process is likely to take.

Uncle #2 also says that if the strata council refuses to take legal advice themselves, I should take independent legal advice, and ask the lawyer if the strata council has failed in their duty of care to me as one of their owners. Uncle #2 thinks I could probably get my legal fees paid by the strata council, on the grounds that THEY should have been the ones to apply for an injunction, instead of leaving it to me.

Now that part I'm a lot more dubious about. He may be correct, but I am not keen on going to war with the strata council. I know and like several of the people on it, after all. Taking the strata council to court would be a great way to get ostracized, and the whole point is to make Horrible Neighbour move, not to make myself have to move.

But I'm feeling slightly more in control of the situation now than i felt yesterday. Albeit no less furious. For a long time I was just simmering along with low-grade resentment, but just lately I am ENRAGED with Horrible Neighbour.
