Sep. 1st, 2012 04:48 pmI haven't been on DW/LJ much lately. Let's just say that the summer lull is over at work.
I am simultaneously the worst pet minion ever and the best pet minion ever. The maternal unit is coming over tomorrow and bringing a flat of Young Miss Weaver's favourite food (for which I will reimburse her, and about which reimbursement she will complain bitterly, because she thinks she's made of money. But that's a whole other post). Not having a car, getting to the store and then walking home with lots of cans is...sub-optimal. YMW finished off the last can this morning, and I figured I'd just give her canned tuna tonight and tomorrow morning. She loves tuna.
I bet you know where this is going, huh? She refused the tuna, but kept looking plaintively at her food bowl. So I finally rummaged around the freezer. The only frozen meat I had was chicken breast. So she's just eaten a nice portion of microwave-defrosted raw chicken breast, and she LOVED it. It damn well better have been the regular chicken, and not the free-range, organic, no-antibiotics, waited-on-wing and-foot-by-poultry-priestesses-until-the-moment-of-execution chicken I sometimes splurge on.
See, this is what people who don't have pets mean when they say pets take over your life! Alternately, this is what will happen to you when you prioritize laziness (not having to put your shoes on and go out) over providing suitable nourishment for your pet. Either way, I have to cook the rest of the chicken. The laziness backfired a little.
On a totally different note, talk to me about Twitter: the good, the bad, and the hideous. I am considering it. Should I be? Also, is it possible to have two separate Twitter accounts, one pseudonymous for fannish purposes and one for RL friends and family?
