raincitygirlI think I'm going to have to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier very soon, out of sheer self-defence. It's all over my f-list/dwircle, and sooner or later spoilers will make their way above the cut-tag, although everybody's being very good so far.
A co-worker lost her dog a few months ago and is looking to adopt again (when I say "lost", I mean the dog died of old age, she didn't actually mislay the dog). My mother knows of a very good-natured dog who needs to be re-homed. Theoretically this is an excellent congruence of events. In practice, it's turning into a bit of a nightmare trying to get hold of people, and people aren't calling me back. I'm trying to do a good thing here, dammit! Why won't the stars align? *shakes fist at universe*
The dog in question apparently has zero behavioural issues (which is rare in a rescue animal) other than not tolerating small children. His current home has a toddler, hence his availability. Now, if it were me, I'd probably be saying, "The dog was here first, so let's put the baby up for adoption instead," which is why it's a VERY good thing I don't have children.
