There are fewer small things more aggravating than being told, "You shouldn't have insomnia." It's a petty irritant, but it really is VERY irritating. Yes, I know I shouldn't have it, but the fact is I do. I had to restrain myself from biting Uncle #2's head off when he came out with that one a few days ago. An internal refrain of "he means well, he means well, damn his eyes," was all that stood between me and a breach of familial relations. Never tell an insomniac they shouldn't have insomnia. First rule of a happy life avoiding being ripped apart by sleep deprived hounds.

John Henry and I had an appointment at the Genius Bar after work. Fifty minutes later he seems to be back to doing what a laptop should. My "genius" was far more patient than I was, but then I guess she spends a lot of time waiting around for computers to do their thing.

Also, holy crap, is it ever cold!

I hear you with the 'you shouldn't have' thing. I get it, too. Plus the 'you take too many drugs' thing, which I also get from the uninformed. I take exactly as many drugs as my doctor prescribes and no more.

And the endless, 'but you look so well', thing. I may look well, but I'm not.
