My brother just moved to Manitoba, a few days ahead of the Polar Vortex. It took the movers a few hours to move all his stuff into his new apartment, with the door open the whole time. By the time they were done it was the same temperature inside as out. He wrote to me on WhatsApp that he was huddled on the bed under every blanket he owned, and he was still colder than he’d been in his life.
