Living in rural UK, I have heard of Hotel Chocolat but not Leonidas (I am not particularly interested in chocolate). But there is a Hotel Chocolat shop in many shopping malls and we even have one in the high street in Taunton, so if you want it to feel like a more exotic gift, I would go for the other one.
But I have no idea about appearance or taste. My weakness is crisps.
