May. 21st, 2016 11:25 amI have updated my link round-up of analyses to Captain America: Civil War with 2 more links from my f-list/dwircle. Just scroll down.
Magpie & Whale has very interesting thoughts re: Sharon Carter (a.k.a. Agent Thirteen) and the toxic media culture. And a coda here.
Esther Bergdahl has a very interesting post, about Agent Carter, TV, women and the monoculture.
And
selenak has written a great post CA:CW fic from Howard Stark's POV, The Dreams In Which I'm Dying. Warning, it obviously contains spoilers for CA:CW, but also contains spoilers for Agent Carter.
I'm still sulking because Agent Carter was cancelled. Pouting here. Yeah, I know Season 2 wasn't as good as Season 1, but Sleepy Hollow's Season 2 SUCKED and they still got a third season.
And I'm being very strong-willed and NOT ordering the original Star Wars trilogy on Blu-Ray and DVD for $39.99 Canadian, down from a usual price of $47.99, on the grounds that I've seen all 3 movies more times than I can count back in the days of VHS, and don't need to see any of them again until AFTER I've finished watching other stuff I've bought but not yet watched. But if you're in the market, it's not a bad deal. 6 discs, a DVD disc of each movie plus a Blu-Ray disc of each movie. But I am being strong. Besides, they're the original movies, but fucked with after the fact by George Lewis. Han shot first, dammit!
On a non-fannish note, have an interesting article from the Globe & Mail's Stephen Quinn, In the Housing Crisis, Vancouver is Not Alone and London Offers Hope.
I have been really bad about actually reading my f-list/dwircle recently. So if you're having a crisis and I haven't commented, I probably haven't actually read it yet. Off to take a bath and then catch up on reading.
