Apr. 16th, 2016 03:37 pmI have my stupid period and I am having so much trouble getting MOVING today. I was awoken at 7 am by 2 raccoons fighting in the shrubbery while a third raccoon watched voyeuristically (I guess the animal kingdom has its own version of Fight Club) and I had to shout at them and make loud banging noises before they'd scarper. Dumb urban animals who aren't afraid of people.
Bottle of Kanonkop Paul Sauer 2011 dispatched for Uncle #2's birthday, and both siblings successfully nagged into sending presents of their own. Maternal unit also guilt-tripped into sending her ex-brother-in-law a card on his milestone birthday. If we have Godzilla and Bridezilla, we can also have Birthdayzilla appeased.

Apparently Antonia Thomas of "Misfits" and "Sunshine on Leith" has crossed the Atlantic and landed the lead in a pilot called "Spark" for ABC. I've had a crush on Thomas ever since her "Misfits" days, and am glad to hear she's getting work. However, I am dubious as to how well ABC of all networks is going to handle a steampunk alternative 2016. I guess we'll see if is any good (and if a mainstream network can find an audience for a steampunk story) if and when the pilot gets picked up. Hey, it might work out. "Once Upon a Time" has the most eccentric premise imaginable, and it gets good ratings.
P.S. Yes, I know the linked article reads like a press release. In fact, it probably IS taken straight from a press release.
