I love sunny days right after it's rained. It's not actually raining, but the air smells all fresh and the sidewalks are clean because the rain has washed them.
Attention iPhone owners, to Error 53, a glitch which will render your phone forever unusable if you have it repaired by a third party (i.e. not a certified Apple repair shop) and then run a standard software update. Well, I say "glitch", but given that Apple is refusing to fix it and says the only solution is to buy a brand-new iPhone, I'm not sure "glitch" is the appropriate word. Maybe "time bomb" or "hostage situation" would work better.
Had a letter from Uncle #1 the other day in which he was very racist about East Indian people. Sigh. He's 75 years old and not educable. Is educable even a word?
I got a pedicure this morning, and ended up having a long chat with the lady in the next chair about obscure movies. She recommended a British movie from 1992 called Leon the Pig Farmer, about an observant Jewish Londoner who discovers to his total shock that he is the product of artificial insemination and his biological father is a Yorkshire pig farmer. Anybody ever heard of this movie? She said it was hilarious. It sounds like it could either be hysterically funny or startlingly offensive.
Anyway, talking to her about movies was a lot more fun than watching CBC Newsworld, which kept playing footage of a baby being pulled from the rubble by firefighters after that earthquake in Taiwan. I know, I know, it's all inspirational and shit that the baby survived and got rescued and looked pretty alert in the footage. But it's still kind of upsetting to watch.
Well, i'd better get back to studying. Or possibly take a nap. One of those.
