Aug. 20th, 2015 08:02 pmI had a wardrobe malfunction yesterday. Several of them, in fact. See, I was wearing a blouse I'd worn many times before without incident, but it was my first time wearing it with my new bra, which...sticks out in front more than the old ones. A crucial button kept popping open. It's funny today, but it wasn't so frelling funny yesterday.
Randy Shilts' masterpiece of a book covering the early years of the AIDS crisis, And the Band Played On, is available on both iBooks and Amazon for $2.99 CDN (e-books only, the paper version still costs a fair bit). That is an incredibly good value for a terrific and not-nearly-as-depressing-as-it-sounds book. It should've won a Pulitzer. I wonder which book won the Pulitzer the year it came out... Because if it beat out Shilts' book, it must have been BRILLIANT.
Tuesday night I got no sleep at all, not so much as a wink. Wednesday was a fun day. But last night I slept for seven whole hours, which is highly unusual for me. I'm still sick but getting better.
