May. 4th, 2014 07:17 pmI haven't been around much on DW/LJ lately, so if anybody posted something they were expecting me to respond to, I'm probably not ignoring you, I probably just didn't read it.
I have my period and I feel like death, slightly toasted. How many sleeps until menopause? My mother, who is a saint, came into the city to bring me groceries and dinner and my meds from the pharmacy (because I needed to pick them up but i just couldn't face getting dressed and leaving the house). And she didn't even answer back when I snapped at her. Luckily it's not usually this bad. I get really horrendous cramps like this maybe once or twice a year. But still, saintly mother.
I have heard that Nnedi Okorafor is a very good writer, but she seems to have written a lot of books. Anybody have a recommendation for a good starter book? I don't want to just pick one at random. I did that when someone recommended Terry Pratchett to me, it was "The Light Fantastic" and it put me off discovering Pratchett's genius for *years*. About five years, I think. Or maybe three.
I don't wanna go back to work tomorrow. I'm going through a phase where I don't like my job very much. Given the state of the world economy, I should be thankful just to be in work. But it's a lot easier to be thankful for that on a Friday afternoon than a Sunday night. Oh well, Victoria Day long weekend coming up soon. So, what are people up to tonight?
