Mar. 8th, 2014 12:28 pmWhoa. Apparently the Manhattan Project cost the US government just under two billion dollars. And that's 1945 dollars. Equivalent to about $26 billion USD today. That is a lot of money. A lot. One wonders how long it would've taken them to come up with the atomic bomb if there hadn't been a world war on, because that's a huge investment.
I have to get up and get dressed and go get groceries and pick up my Ativan from the pharmacy. It's raining, and I have no desire to do anything except sit on the couch in my pyjamas and watch Farscape. Life is hard. I rewatched Premiere last night (well, technically very early this morning) and it holds up pretty darn well. The special effects hold up well too, considering it's from 1999. Oh God, Farscape started 15 years ago. I'm old! Incidentally, Farscape is out on Blu-Ray but The Peacekeeper Wars isn't. Interesting.
I should be watching The Americans instead. Chapters finally sent me Season 1, and I've promised to lend it to Brother when I'm finished with it. I'm seeing him Tuesday, so I should watch it this weekend. I've been looking forward to its arrival for weeks, but now it's here I don't feel like watching it. Because I'm weird.
