slippery_fish, apparently there's a Farscape movie in the works. I am all asquee, but also a little apprehensive. What if it sucks, and tarnishes my good Farscape memories? Talk about a glass-half-empty attitude. I should try to be more positive, but my mind automatically goes to the worst case scenario.
If it gets made, I'll watch it, of course, but I am apprehensive. And they'd either have to cast a new voice actor for Rygel or write his character out, as Jonathan Hardy has since died. Speaking of actors, I am as ever incredulous that Lani John Tupu managed to simultaneously play Captain Crais onscreen and also be the voice of Pilot. Their voices sound nothing alike!
This is from a few weeks ago, but I forgot to link to it back then. In honour of Oscar night, have
glvalentine critiquing the BAFTA red carpet. I am not especially interested in fashion, but I found it a highly entertaining read. Also,
glvalentine critiques (and sometimes compliments) the clothes and the styling, without ever criticizing the face or the body type. Which is good, because we get enough of that crap elsewhere.
This is an oldie as well, gakked from either
vonniek or
musesfool, from romance novelist Jennifer Crusie's blog, The Felicity Smoak Problem, a.k.a. how fictional characters can run roughshod over carefully laid plot, as illustrated by the supporting character of Felicity Smoak from the TV show Arrow. Vague spoilers for Season 1 of Arrow.
Edited to add: Warning for character bashing at the above link. If you are a Laurel fan, you will likely want to give the link a miss.
Does anybody have recommendations for a good Jennifer Crusie novel to start out with? I'm really enjoying her meta at her blog, so I might well enjoy her books. I'm not usually a fan of romance novels (of romance, yes, but mostly of the fanfic variety), but I'm willing to give her a shot. It's just that she seems to have written a lot of books, and I'm not sure which would be the best entry-level one to start with.
My mum came to visit and brought Venus Flytrap, who decided he didn't want to go home again. We ended up chasing him all over the apartment trying to get the leash on him. It's really very flattering. In other news, I don't wanna go to work tomorrow!
