bossymarmalade, The Aesthetic Politics of Filming Black Skin. Really interesting article, particularly on the technical side. I know nothing about the technical aspect of filmmaking (nor the other aspects, actually), and still found it fascinating. It's just one of those things I'd never thought about before: how do you film dark skinned people in a medium that was created to film light skinned people?
On a less serious note, Sleepy Hollow is piling up unwatched on my DVR, even though multiple reliable sources have informed me that it's crackalicious and I will likely enjoy the heck out of it. It's almost November and I just haven't been watching the new season of TV. Haven't been watching any TV at all, actually. Not quite sure what's wrong with me. I just kind of got out of the habit of watching TV, and whenever I think, "Actually, I'd quite like to give this show a try," it's always a bad time.
