Jun. 23rd, 2013 08:02 pmI thought the new Rivers of London book, Broken Homes, was being released in June, but it turns out the release date is actually July 25. I'm mad at Ben Aaronovitch now! I'm not sure if I got the date wrong initially or if the release date has been pushed back.
The brother is flying to San Francisco in July to watch Everton play Juventus in a pre-season exhibition match. He's an Everton fan, but does not have high hopes that they'll win against the Italian champions.
The brother and I managed to catch up on our respective thoughts about Orphan Black, and agreed that the season finale was a little bit of a letdown compared with the excellence of previous episodes. Oh, and
ide_cyan has definitive proof that it's set in Toronto, rather than filmed in Toronto while being set in Generic American City.
On Friday I successfully returned an item to a store without buying more items I don't need out of pure guilt over returning something. Go me! I have subsequently realized that I *do* need something from the store in question, and will thus be making a return trip. But I like to think of Friday's trip as a character-building exercise all the same.
Young Miss Weaver has developed two small bald spots on her left side. I am trying not to worry about them yet, as they are small and could just be from over-grooming.
