Jan. 15th, 2012 01:55 pmSo it snowed Friday night. Yes, here in Vancouver where it virtually never snows. And on Saturday morning I managed to fall in the snow, bruise my knee and pull my hamstring. Owie! I now take back any ignoble thoughts I've ever had about seeing footballers hobble off the pitch with no visible bruises, because the pulled hammie hurts way worse than the bruises. Thank God for heating pads.
The maternal unit came over with the Venus Fly Trap in tow, looking very fetching in a stripey sweater (VFT, that is. The maternal unit was not wearing stripes). I think he will need something more waterproof for this weather than a woolen sweater, though. I attempted to photograph him, but was hampered by his continued tendency to hide in closets. He's starting to fill out a bit, so it's just as well the maternal unit didn't buy outfits for him immediately. He'd lost weight at the SPCA, and is putting it back on. The SPCA wasn't starving the little beast, he was just off his food due to stress, which is why they ended up handing him over to the rescue org.
Mum also brought her copy of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, which I will start reading directly. Did you know they have something like twenty le Carre titles available for download on iBooks, but TTSS is not one of them? Stupid publishers. You'd think e-books would be available no matter what, but you'd be wrong. So I had to wait for the physical copy.
