Young Miss Weaver is being super-clingy tonight. I'm like, "I love you too, but for the love of all that's holy, would you quit meowing and dogging my footsteps? You're a cat, please act like one and be disdainful of puny humans." It's not that she's not usually affectionate, but she's usually frantically affectionate in small doses, and the rest of the time sleeping on the couch where I'm reading. Hopefully she gets over it before she trips me up and I break an ankle.

[personal profile] monanotlisa has thoughtful thoughts about Paris, Beirut and de-escalation.

And the escalation has already begun. A mosque in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada was torched in an arson attack on Saturday night. Courtesy of [personal profile] commodorified, have a satirical article from the Beaverton (similar to the Onion), Isis sends "thank you" fruit basket to people who set fire to Peterborough mosque.

However, the community has rallied round, raising enough funds in two days to pay for all the damage and then some (the overflow money is going to charity), and local churches have offered to let worshippers use their space while they wait for the repairs to be complete. So we also have de-escalation.

Smokey is very clingy right now - and more so when it's windy outside. I don't think she likes the sound of wind in the trees. And all the time I'm on the computer she's just behind me, meowing.
