I grew up in Surrey. I should probably be insulted, instead of giggling.

[personal profile] commodorified has the most hilarious collection of Canadian problems. Well, hilarious if you're Canadian. Some of them might be a little inexplicable to outsiders. And I have yet to come across a problem that references Tim Horton's. Which just seems wrong, if we're in "let's make fun of Canadians" mode. Unless of course Timmeh's is NEVER a problem, and always a solution.

For the uninitiated, Tim Horton's is a ubiquitous chain of coffee and doughnut shops. At the height of the Canadian mission in Afghanistan, there was a branch in Kandahar, which just goes to show you how dependent your average Canadian is on their Timmeh's fix.

Oh, and my fandoms are colliding. Cutting for Doctor Who casting spoilers:Ben Browder of Farscape fame is going to be guest-starring in an episode on the next series of Doctor Who. Apparently it's set in the Wild West.

Here's hoping they put him in vaguely fascist-looking leather and have him be trigger happy but traumatized. Because let's face it, Ben Browder may look like the all-American hero type, but John Crichton was usually the damsel in distress rather than the hero. Part of why I loved Farscape.

It's probably just stunt-casting, but it'll be fun to see him onscreen again.
