raincitygirlAm listening to "Farewell to Stromness" by Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, upon recommendation by Uncle #1. I am in general iffy on modern classical music, but this is really good. Apparently Maxwell Davies died very recently. March 14, in point of fact. 2016 seems to be the year of lots of people kicking the bucket, and 2016 isn't over yet.
On a related note, Uncle #1 seems very pleased that I asked him to ship me one of his paintings for my fortieth birthday (which isn't until late October). It will probably cost the earth to send even if he does it surface mail, but it's his work. And apparently the painting he's chosen is one both my late great-uncle and late grandmother admired.
Going for a pedicure soon, yay!
I want to fly to New York City and go see the musical Hamilton. It seems like a good chunk of my East Coast-based f-listers and dwircle people have already seen it and loved it. Pouting here because I can't remotely afford it. Maybe it'll tour at some point in the next, oh, fifteen years or so.
