Gakked from [personal profile] jesuswasbatman, we have Frustrations of an Asian-American Whedonite, primarily about Firefly.

I am very proud of myself. I was at the pharmacy the other day, picking up a somewhat odd prescription that my doctor had phoned in. The pharmacy intern who was ringing my purchase through was obviously somewhat puzzled, and asked, "Is there a reason why we're giving you 3 pills of so-and-so and 7 pills of this-and-that?"

Normally I would've launched into a long explanation and justification, to avoid hurting his feelings or embarrassing him. But there were people in line behind me whom I really didn't feel like sharing my private medical info with, and I didn't much care for the way he'd phrased the question (maybe the internship is partly about learning how to TACTFULLY get info out of customers?), and I was just feeling generally cranky.

So instead I smiled passive-aggressively at him and said, "Yes, there is." Which shut him up nicely.

Generally speaking I don't advocate passive-aggressive behaviour. But I guess it's a step up from plain old passive. Apparently I should indulge my crankiness more often. Besides, I left feeling on top of the world, instead of resentful and wanting to switch pharmacies.
