At *some* point is Peaky Blinders going to be available in Region 1? Say, before I hit retirement age? Because I have heard *such* good things about it (and have a wee crush on Helen McCrory), but it is totally unavailable here. Sulk, sulk, sulk. It's enough to make a woman want to buy a region-free player, if a woman weren't already broke from buying Christmas presents for all her relations.

On the bright side, The Americans Season 2 finally has a DVD/Blu Ray release date: December 16. So one of my relations can buy it for me for Christmas.

And is Marvel *ever* going to give us a Black Widow movie? No, I didn't think so. Sulk, sulk, sulk.

Edited to add:
I spoke too soon. As it turns out, Peaky Blinders Seasons 1 and 2 *are* available on region-free Blu Ray. However, the price is $72.99, which is an awful lot for a show I haven't actually seen and would use up most of my gifts from others (I could likely get Brother and Sister to go in together on it, but then I wouldn't get anything else from them). Also, it says "Please note a 1080/50i compatible player is suggested for best playback." I have no idea if my Blu Ray player is compatible. It's a regular Region 1 LG.

I suppose I could *ahem* the first episode and then make a decision as to whether or not the show's my cup of tea. But *ahemming* is not my strong suit. I am not technically adept. No, wait, I have a moral objection to *ahemming*. It's not sheer incompetence, nor sheer laziness, it's a moral objection. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Edited to add again:
I'm going to *ahem* the pilot and see how I like it. Not shelling out that much cash sight unseen for ANYTHING. Not even for Helen McCrory.
